Long exposure photography
‘Smashing Tips‘ has some amazing long exposure photos. I love how the same effect makes some pictures seem more real and other seem more dream-like. The water becomes soft or a soft metallic. Night pictures are brighter where most of the scene appears normal around an anomaly. It definitely makes me want to get a camera and explore. Explore the difference between real and surreal pictures, night and day, light manipulation (both natural and man-made). While I do not paint or tangibly explore many of the things I think about this pulling to create from things that trigger inspiration remind me that I am an artist. I hope to create more this year. Create more and worry less.
Roomba Art
Here’s a flickr group that takes pictures (with a long exposure) of their Rhoomba vacuum cleaners going around their rooms. Makes for interesting designs. Some of the photoraphers purposefully place dirt in places to try and control a bit of the composition.
